A plastic bag may seem like a great companion, helping to carry home the things you just bought, whilst keeping them from getting dirty.
However, all this turns sour when you throw the bag away. Then, the plastic bag morphs into a killer. A plastic bag takes more than a thousand years to decay by a process of gradual flaking. Innocent birds and animals mistake these flakes for food, and swallow them. Plastic waste kills millions of fish, birds, and sea animals every year, and plastic bags have even led to the death of thousands of people, such as in the sewer flood in Bangladesh, 2005.
Save lives – use a canvas bag.
